ABOUT TEDxOAKPARK
TEDxOakPark is a locally organized movement providing TEDx events in our community. TEDxOakParkWomen follows a traditional TED event format with live speakers and performers, broadcasts of national TEDWomen Talks, and networking opportunities, all while highlighting local Oak Park area flair through partners and experience providers as we share ideas worth spreading. TEDxOakParkSalon events are designed for smaller audiences and feature TED and TEDx Talks, activities, and discussions revolving around a single relevant theme. A condensed TEDx event, they are distinct in their brevity, opportunities for conversation, and heightened interaction in our community.
ABOUT TED + TEDX
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and/or live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.

Love TEDx Talks but want time to participate in a discussion about the topic? TEDxOakParkSalon was introduced in 2019! TEDxOakParkSalon events welcome an intimate audience for an evening of highly-curated TED and TEDx Talks revolving around a relevant theme. A condensed version of a TEDx event, they are distinct in their brevity, opportunities for conversation, and heightened interaction between the speaker and audience. A MESSAGE TO POTENTIAL SPEAKERS
In the past few months, we’ve had several inquiries from potential speakers about the application process for our next TEDxOakParkWomen event. Currently, we are not accepting speaker applications. If you are interested in applying to be a speaker, please sign up for our email list and indicate your interest on the form below. When we’re ready to open up the call for submissions, we’ll email our entire subscriber list and contact you directly if you’ve already expressed interest.
In the meantime, you can prepare for your idea submission! Over the years TED has come up with a few dos and don’ts on how to give a great TED Talk. Start honing your idea and considering how your TEDx Talk will be unique and fresh. This may help you stand out and feel more confident when it comes time to propose your idea to the TEDxOakPark team!
